Very disappointing

Although I didn't see the last season, I was sorry to hear Southland has been cancelled. I did see the last few minutes of the final ep---big shocker--and I feel like Ben's issues were never addressed.
After starting the show thinking he was hott shit, his ego seemed to grow with each passing season, and he seemed to be getting more and more out of control.

Thanks, BG, for letting me know about the show. Gotta love it when they cancel "one of the best" for no real reason cuz they never actually gave one.

TNT has cancelled crime drama Southland (while calling it “one of the best police dramas ever made”) ....... Southland aired five seasons, first starting out on NBC before switching to TNT..
Here’s the network statements:
TNT has made the difficult decision not to renew Southland for another season. We are enormously proud of Southland, which stands as one of the best police dramas ever made. Executive producers John Wells, Chris Chulack and Jonathan Lisco, along with creator Ann Biderman and our partners at Warner Bros. Television, have given us five seasons of powerful, unforgettable storytelling, for which we are deeply grateful. We also want to thank the amazing cast for their impassioned, no-holds-barred performances, and the production team for their tenacity shooting on the streets of real-world Los Angeles. We wish everyone associated with Southland the very best.

think it had something to do with the way episodes are written? I watched Southland and while I enjoyed some of the gritty, realistic episodes, it felt like something was lacking. Might be because it's not even a little a mainstream?
