He's big and beautiful, but look at the size of this Houston K-9! Wow.

Gorgeous pic.

now you know that NORMALLY I support the police, but.....

I canNOT support a white officer wearing dreads. UGH!! Even though it is such a natural look on a white guy....

Police in Philadelphia say a white officer who came to work with cornrows was ordered by a black superior to get a haircut because the braids violated department standards.

The Philadelphia Daily News reported Monday that Officer Thomas Strain was put on desk duty this month because of the braids, even though the paper reported dozens of black officers wear cornrows.

“They pulled him out of roll call and took him right up to the inspector’s office,“ said an officer who asked to remain anonymous.

Reached last week, Strain declined to comment to the paper about the hair hubbub.

‘Professional’ look
Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore says Strain’s boss told the officer to cut his hair to look more “professional.“

Vanore says officers’ hats must fit “in a military manner” over their hair, and that Strain’s hat did not. Strain got a haircut; he declined comment to the paper.

Interviewed by the Daily News, Vanore said he couldn’t explain why black officers with cornrows weren’t ordered to get haircuts — unless they’re women. The policy for female officers is slightly more permissive, he said.

Friends, according to the newspaper, described Strain as a hardworking cop who hails from a family of police officers and who adores police work.

The former Marine served in Iraq, where he twice survived explosions when his Hummer hit roadside bombs in 2006, co-workers said.

“He’s a guy that, when things go bad, you want him there,“ the officer told the paper.

Sad to say but...

Officer Nicole Sittre of Clark County has now been replaced by Deputy Andrea Penoyer as the "most googled female officer" on my site.

Methinks the bikini pics are what pushed Andrea ahead;)

Just a hunch.

All together now…... awwwwwww

Wonder if any of them will grow up to be police dogs? After all they are Lab/Shepherd mix. Bet that officer got a big surprise when he came back to the cruiser...LOL!

Eight puppies were born in the back of a Winnipeg police car while the officers were responding to a call on Thursday.

The officers were on regular patrol when they noticed a couple of dogs wandering in traffic near Mountain Avenue and McPhillips Street around 2:30 a.m.

They were able to coax the dogs into the rear of their cruiser, luring them with food purchased at a local convenience store.

While on their way to take the dogs to an animal shelter, the officers responded to a call for assistance in regards to a man with a gun seen in the 800 block of Redwood Avenue, just a few blocks away.

The officers were on the scene of the weapons incident for about four hours while the dogs remained in the back of the cruiser.

After the incident was over, the officers returned to their car to discover the female Labrador/Shepherd cross had given birth to eight puppies.

The canine family was taken to the city's animal pound, where two more puppies were born.

The owner of the dogs was located, and after paying a fine for letting his dogs run loose, went home with both dogs and the new brood.

Man who dared police is now in custody

A wanted man who dared police to catch him on a social networking Web site is now a resident of the Hennepin County Jail in Minneapolis.

Ezrakiah John Rowlinson, 33, is wanted for questioning by police in Des Moines, Ankeny and Ames, who are investigating several incidents in which Rowlinson allegedly used fraudulent checks.

According to police, Rowlinson had a MySpace page on which he wrote: "You really think I'd let you apprehend me? Guess again, officer (expletive)."

Details of his arrest last week were not available, but the charge filed by Minneapolis police was "fleeing a police officer."

Des Moines Police Officer Terry Mitchell said charges of forgery and theft have been filed against Rowlinson in Des Moines, and officers with all three police departments continue to investigate.
